Baxter Dury readies 'It's a Pleasure' (listen to the first single)

Baxter Dury, son of Ian Dury and talented songwriter is his own right, returns with his fourth album, It’s a Pleasure, in October. Working in the same minimalistic sonic palette as 2011’s great Happy Soup, the lead single “Pleasure” uses vintage drum machines and synths — and just enough guitar — to great effect, with Dury’s world weary voice the main attraction. You can stream it in this post.

If you missed Happy Soup, it was really one of 2011’s overlooked gems (it was my #4 album of that year). 2005’s Floor Show is worth investigating too. Videos from both those albums and the “Pleasure” stream below…
