While they have no U.S. tour plans at the moment (the band say early 2013), BEAK> are about to embark on a European jaunt and are releasing a special version of their new album to commemorate it. It comes in a fabric box with a bonus CD featuring ten tracks from the same sessions as the album. It’s mostly available at the band’s merch table but Invada has a limited amount for sale through their website. You can stream one of the bonus disc’s “0898” (the UK’s version of “1-900” telephone exchange, which were primarily used for sex lines) at the bottom of this post.

Meanwhile, Barrow also released an album with Ben Salisbury under the name DROKK which is made up entirely of minimal synthesizer instrumentals. It was conceived as a soundtrack to a nonexistent post-apocalyptic sci-fi film inspired by the 2000AD comics (Judge Dredd, Rogue Trooper). If you like John Carpenter soundtracks, this is right up your alley.
