Beans releasing 3 albums and a novel on one day (stream a track from each)
New York alt-rapper Beans hasn’t released a record since his 2013 collaborative EP with Mux Mool as Knifefight, but he’s about to make up for that in a major way. He’s releasing THREE new albums and a 226-page novel on March 31. The albums include Love Me Tonight, a heavily collaborative album that features Interpol drummer Sam Fogarino, Laurel Halo, Pete Swanson, Tobacco, Ben Chisholm (of Chelsea Wolfe’s band), and H.Prizm of Antipop Consortium (which Beans used to be a member of); Wolves of the World produced exclusively by Canadian producer Tobaggon); and HAAST, which was produced by a handful of Cleveland producers (Ay-Fast, Chris Auerbach-Brown, noise artist David Russell Stempowski). The book is called Die Tonight, and it’s “a book of weird fiction about a teenager that gets possessed by a vinyl record.”
Each album is limited to 500 vinyl copies, and people who pre-order the three-album bundle will get the book for free. More info here.
We’re premiering one song from each album, the Tobacco-featuring “Cemetery Wind” from Love Me Tonight, which veers into psych-pop territory, “Rainbows Get Sick and Die” from Wolves of the World, which is the most traditionally “rap” song of the three, and “Green Galaxy,” Black Cocaine” from HAAST, a highly experimental, abstract song.
