Raspberry Bulbs playing a Nothing Changes party in November (Believer/Law and Automelodi first)

Raspberry Bulbs

Crusty metal/punk outfit Raspberry Bulbs put out their second album, the gruff ripper Deformed Worship, over the summer. That album, with a much fuller production than anything RB had done before, was on heavy rotation for a while; we played “Groping the Angel’s Face,” “Lusty Climbing,” and others off Deformed Worship more than a few times on Invisible Oranges on East Village Radio. It was also a surprisingly fitting summer release–Deformed Worship had a palpable demented-surf vibe to it. Not something you’d expect from a band that is usually cited as having black metal leanings.

Since the release, though, things have been pretty quiet for the NYC-based band. They’ve played just a handful of shows locally and a couple on the road. Now, though, they’ll be playing the Wednesday night party Nothing Changes on November 13 at Home Sweet Home with Pod Blotz.

Before that, Nothing Changes hosts the previously discussed Believer/Law Halloween Extravaganza on October 30 with YOU. The show is also a release show for Believer/Law’s forthcoming 12″, Matters of Life and Death, due out October 29 on Chondritic Sound. The Nothing Changes party is about two weeks after their previously discussed show with Iceage at Acheron (10/15), the first of the Danish punk band’s two nights there.

UPDATE: Believer/Law dropped off the 10/30 Nothing Changes show and was replaced by Ell V Gore.

And, as mentioned, even sooner than that Automelodi will be playing Nothing Changes on Wednesday (10/9).
