Belly played Bowery Ballroom (pics, setlist, video), do it again tonight

“Dental insurance is involved in this song.” That was Tanya Donelly’s intro to Belly‘s hit “Feed the Tree” (“put silver where her teeth had been”) Wednesday (8/10) at Bowery Ballroom, their first of two nights there. Mind you, in front of a devoted crowd happy to be seeing a band that broke up 20 years ago, just about every song in Belly’s 20-song, two-set “An Evening With” night was treated like a hit. We got most of the favorites from the band’s two albums, Star and King, along with a couple b-sides (like “Spaceman”) and new songs as well. The night ended with Star‘s final song “Sway” and video of that, along with the setlist, is below.

Pictures from Night 1 are in the gallery above. Belly play Bowery Ballroom again tonight (8/11), which is sold out.

If you missed it, check out video of Tanya Donelly and Thom Yorke duetting on “Untogether” from Belly & Radiohead’s 1993 tour.
