Ben Gibbard releases studio version of benefit single “Life In Quarantine”

Ben Gibbard Quarantine

In the midst of doing his daily livestreams, Ben Gibbard recently released a solo acoustic performance video of his new song “Life In Quarantine,” and he said proceeds would go to charity once the song got its official release. Well, the studio version is out now and it benefits Seattle non-profit Aurora Commons, “a wonderful organization that provides a safe space for people temporarily experiencing homelessness.” It’s a lovely song that manages to be about exactly what we’re all going through without being too on the nose — listen below.

Ben’s next livestream is today (3/26) at 7 PM ET. If you haven’t been keeping up with these, I highly recommend it — they’ve really provided some solace during these crazy times and they’ve included lots of cool covers and deep cuts from Ben’s many projects. You can watch his first nine and see the setlists for each one here.
