Beth Orton releasing ‘Sugaring Season,’ touring this fall including Town Hall (dates)

Beth Orton

Beth Orton will release Sugaring Season, her first album in six years, on October 2 via Anti Records. She made the record in Portland, OR with producer Tucker Martine (My Morning Jacket, The Decemberists) and guests include Marc Ribot and Sam Amidon. You can check out the first single, “Something More Beautiful,” below and if you haven’t checked in with Orton in a while, she’s dropped the electronics that characterized her early work (like 1996’s Trailer Park) in favor of a more organic, soulful approach.

This fall, Orton will also be going on her first tour in six years, including a NYC stop at Town Hall on October 4 with Sam Amidon opening. Tickets to that show go on sale Friday, July 13 at 11AM with an AmEx presale beginning Wednesday (7/11) at noon.
