Big Ears 2020 initial lineup: Efterklang, MUM, Tindersticks, Damo Suzuki, more

The 2020 edition of Big Ears goes down March 26-29 in Knoxville, TN. They’ve just announced the initial lineup which includes: Efterklang, Tindersticks, MÚM celebrating the 20th anniversary of Yesterday Was Dramatic—Today is OK, Thundercat, Devendra Banhart, Damo Suzuki of Can, Mdou Moctar, mssv (Mike Baggetta, Stephen Hodges, Mike Watt), Sarah Davachi, Xylouris White, and more.

There’s also Kim Gordon, Steve Gunn, Bill Nace and John Truscinski performing a live score for Andy Warhol’s Kiss; Led Zeppelin’s John Paul Jones and cellist Anssi Karttunen performing as Sons of Chipotle; a celebration of Terry Riley‘s 85th birthday, including a duo performance with Ryan Giley, and a solo organ performance on St. John’s Cathedral pipe organ; Meredith Monk & Bang on a Can Orchestra performing the full-concert premiere of “Memory Game”; Joe Henry’s 115th Dream featuring Jason Moran and Marc Ribot, with Jay Bellerose, David Piltch and Levon Henry; Shabaka & The Ancestors (Shabaka Hutchings of Sons of Kemet, The Comet is Coming), Christian Scott, Saul Williams, Sudan Archives, and more.
