Big Ears expands lineup: Wilco members, Jeremy Gara, Matana Roberts, more

Knoxville, TN’s unique Big Ears Festival returns March 23-26, and today the fest is revealing new additions to the lineup. Wilco were already announced, but also frontman Jeff Tweedy will do an improv set with Chikamorachi (aka Chris Corsano and Darin Gray). It’ll be one of the first Tweedy Meets Chikamorachi live sets. Wilco keyboardist Mikael Jorgensen is also presenting his ‘Quindar’ project with art historian and curator James Merle Thomas. And as mentioned, there will be a set by On Fillmore, which includes Wilco’s Glenn Kotche and Chikamorachi’s Darin Gray.

Other additions include a solo improv set from Arcade Fire’s Jeremy Gara, a duo set from Matthew Shipp and Bobby Kapp, the duo Xylouris White (aka lute player George White and Dirty Three drummer Jim White), experimental artist Matana Roberts, and still more including The Quavers, White Magic, Jessica Moss, Theo Bleckmann + Ben Monder, Frode Haltli and Nils Økland.

The newly added artists join Blonde Redhead, Deerhoof, My Brightest Diamond, Tortoise, The Magnetic Fields, Xiu Xiu, and more. Updated lineup below. Tickets are still available.
