Big Thief's Adrianne Lenker announces new solo LP (listen to "cradle")
Adrianne Lenker of Big Thief will release a solo album, abysskiss, on October 5 via Saddle Creek. “I want to archive the songs in their original forms every few years,” says Lenker. “My first solo record I made was Hours Were the Birds. I had just turned 21 and moved to New York City where I was sleeping in a warehouse, working in a restaurant and photographing pigeons. Now five years later, another skin is being shed.” She made the album over the course of a week with co-producer Luke Temple, and you can listen to the spare, delicate “cradle” now.
Big Thief, meanwhile, are on tour in Europe now, and will hit the road in North America this fall, including a NYC show at Brooklyn Steel on October 17 with The Range of Light Wilderness and .michael. (tickets). All tour dates are listed below.
