The Raincoats appeared at NYC’s historic non-profit performance arts space The Kitchen on Thursday (11/2), Friday (11/3) for a live Q&A with Jenn Pelly, who recently published a 33 1/3 on their classic 1979 self-titled album. At both of the book events The Raincoats’ Gina Birch and Ana da Silva performed songs in addition to the Q&A and showing rare short films.

Then on Saturday (10/4) there was a special “The Raincoats & Friends” benefit featuring “performances, video tributes, viewings of Ana and Gina’s student films, and much more.” The Raincoats performed and were joined by Palmolive (also of The Slits) who drummed on their debut album but left the band before the album’s release. There really was “much more,” as Bikini Kill reunited, briefly, to perform “For Tammy Rae”! It was their first time playing together in 20 years. Check out some pictures and videos…
