Billy Bragg celebrating first 6 LPs on 2019 U.S. tour

Paraphrasing a lyric in “Waiting for the Great Leap Forwards,” Billy Bragg has announced a unique 2019 tour he calls “One Step Forward, Two Steps Back.” On it he’ll play three consecutive nights in each city. The first night will be dedicated to current material, while the second night will feature selections from his first three LPs (Life’s a Riot With Spy Vs. Spy, Brewing Up With Billy Bragg, and Talking With the Taxman About Poetry), and the third night features selections from the three albums after that (Workers Playtime, Don’t Try This at Home, and William Bloke).

The tour, which has dates throughout 2019, hits Seattle, Minneapolis, Chicago, the DC area, NYC, and the Boston area. The NYC shows are at Bowery Ballroom on September 26-28. Tickets for Bowery Ballroom, and the whole tour, go on sale Friday, November 16. There are three-night pass options for each city and there’s a Citi cardmember presale for the Bowery shows happening right now.
