Bird of Youth

Bird of Youth releasing 'Get Off' (stream it), playing shows, including NYC with Mark Eitzel

Beth Wawerna is releasing the new Bird of Youth album Get Off next week (5/20) via Kiam Records (pre-order), and we’re premiering the full stream in this post. It follows her 2011 debut Defender and, like that album, it’s indie rock with a sense of classic pop songwriting (the record label’s description name drops Big Star and Harry Nilsson). If you don’t listen to Bird of Youth already, but you like Okkervil River (who she frequently collaborates with) or Nada Surf (who she’s also worked with and who she’s about to tour with), that’s worth changing and this album is a great place to start. Stream it below.

She’s opening the DC, Philly and Boston stops of Nada Surf’s tour, but she plays a NYC record release show before that. It happens Tuesday (5/17) at Union Pool with American Music Club frontman Mark Eitzel opening. Tickets for that show are on sale now. All dates are listed below.
