Jawbreaker Going Off Track

Jawbreaker's Blake Schwarzenbach guesting at Going Off Track taping, 33 1/3 Q&A

After reuniting for Riot Fest 2018 (and a secret warm-up show beforehand), Jawbreaker began playing club shows again in San Francisco in January, and they’re about to finally play NYC next week. The shows happen at Brooklyn Steel on Monday (2/26), Tuesday (2/27), and Wednesday (2/28), and all three are long sold out.

A couple weeks after those shows, Jawbreaker frontman Blake Schwarzenbach will appear in NYC again for a live taping of the Going Off Track podcast on March 16 at Knitting Factory. The last time Blake appeared on the Going Off Track podcast, he played the Jets To Brazil classic “Sweet Avenue” (video below), so maybe he’ll give us another treat like that this time. You’ll just have to go to find out.

This episode has two other very cool guests: Brian Baker (Dag Nasty, Bad Religion, Minor Threat) and Laura Stevenson. As always, the hosts are Jonah Bayer (United Nations), Benny Horowitz (The Gaslight Anthem), Steven Smith (Steven’s Untitled Rock Show), and Brad Worrell (music producer, ex-The Goops). Tickets are on sale.

Brian Baker will also be in NYC and NJ on the Dag Nasty tour in late March.

Laura Stevenson also has a show here on March 31 at Sunnyvale with Zula and Fern Mayo (tickets).

UPDATE: Blake’s got another event in NYC on April 7 at Murmrr Theatre. He’ll be taking part in a Q&A to celebrate the release of the new 33 1/3 book on Jawbreaker’s classic 24 Hour Revenge Therapy, along with author Ronen Givony and fellow ’90s punk/indie/emo vet Tim Kinsella (Cap’n Jazz, Joan of Arc, Owls, etc). Tickets go on sale Friday (2/23) at 10 AM.
