blink-182 staging their own Area 51 event in Brooklyn?

UPDATE: While in Brooklyn, blink-182 played SAINT VITUS.

Not only is Nevada preparing for potentially millions of alien-curious earthlings to storm Area 51 on Friday (9/20), blink-182 — whose Tom Delonge told us that “aliens exist” 20 years ago — appear to be staging their own “Storm Area 51”-like event in Brooklyn the same day, which is also the day blink-182 are performing Enema of the State in full with Lil Wayne at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center.

There’s a Facebook event called “Storm Brooklyn, They Can’t Stop All of Us (Aliens Only!),” which appears to be hosted by the band, and it’s set to happen outside Barclays Center before the show. blink-182 posted in the event, writing, “Come to Barclay’s on Friday dressed up as aliens or nurses OR nurse aliens and you might get some blink-182 swag! We may even have some other surprises in store so make sure you’re there at 6pm sharp.”

In case you were hoping one of those surprises would be an appearance by Tom Delonge, who isn’t in blink-182 anymore, you can pretty safely assume he won’t be anywhere near Barclays Center on Friday, as his Angels & Airwaves tour hits Detroit that night. (And by the way, he’s been doing an acoustic blink-182/Box Car Racer medley at those shows, which includes “I Miss You,” “Reckless Abandon,” “There Is,” “Wishing Well,” and, yes, “Aliens Exist.” Watch below.)

Also, tonight (9/19) is the free Alienstock festival, which has been moved and now happens at the Downtown Las Vegas Events Center.
