Blitz Vega (mems Smiths & Happy Mondays) announce first U.S. show
Blitz Vega is the new band from former Smiths bassist Andy Rourke and KAV (who played in Happy Mondays in the ’00s). A bicoastal project — Andy lives in NYC, KAV lives in Los Angeles — with ties to Manchester, Blitz Vega make psych-garage with a groove, not unlike Primal Scream or Black Rebel Motorcycle Club. The band will play their first U.S. show this month, at Los Angeles’ The House of Machines on July 24. That’s a free show but you do need to RSVP with an email to [email protected]. Flyer for the show is below. The band promise more shows soon.
