Blondie, Liz Phair & Sasami @ House of Vans (pics)

It was a killer night of music at Brooklyn’s House of Vans on Friday night (7/20) with local legends Blondie, ’90s fave Liz Phair and up-and-comer SASAMI. Both Blondie and Liz stuck mainly to the hits, making for a sing-a-long kind of night, while SASAMI (aka former Cherry Glazerr keyboardist Sasami Ashworth) previewed tracks from her forthcoming debut LP. Before the show, Liz wondered aloud on Twitter as to “whether or not it’s uncool to wear a Blondie t shirt while opening for Blondie,” and after such folks as Veruca Salt, Margo Price and Aimee Mann said yes, she did indeed rock the shirt at HoV.

Friday’s show also doubled as an photo exhibit for Blondie’s Chris Stein, showcasing= pics he took that will be in his forthcoming book POINT OF VIEW: Me, New York City and the Punk Scene. Pictures from the whole night are in the gallery above and Blondie and Liz Phair’s setlist are below.

Liz will be back in Brooklyn this fall as part of her tour., and Blondie play Asbury Park’s Sea.Hear.Now festival in September.
