Bob Fouts (Gates of Slumber, Chrome Waves) passed away at 45

Very sad news in the metal community today: “Iron” Bob Fouts, who played in Burn It Down, The Gates of Slumber, and Chrome Waves, has passed away. He was 45. Cause of death is not yet known.

As Decibel reports, Gates of Slumber frontman Karl Simon broke the news on the band’s Facebook, writing, “RIP Bob. I don’t have the words really. He’d seemed like he was on the way back. I hope he’s at peace.”

Bob also did production, engineering, and session work for several bands, including Nachtmystium, Apostle of Solitude, and more. The Gates of Slumber broke up in 2013, and their former bassist Jason McCash passed away at age 37 a year later.

Rest in peace, Bob. You’ll be missed.
