Bob Weir streaming new LP ft. National mems, joined Wilco and Sammy Hagar live (videos); Hot Tuna touring

Bob Weir

Next week (9/30), the Grateful Dead’s Bob Weir releases Blue Mountain, his new solo album that he co-wrote with Josh Ritter and recorded with members of huge Grateful Dead fans The National. Now, the entire album is here to stream:

Bob and members of The National are also supporting the album on tour, including NYC-area shows at Kings Theatre and the Capitol Theatre in October. Bob’s old bandmate Phil Lesh also just announced three Capitol Theatre shows for that same month.

Bobby was also honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2016 Americana Honors & Awards in Nashville last night (9/21). The event streamed live, and you can watch an archive of that stream today (9/22) at 1:30 PM EST, via Live For Live Music:

Bob Weir has also been doing some cool live collaborations lately. He teamed up with his pals Wilco (who play NYC tonight, 9/22) at last week’s Sound Summit fest. Bill Frisell and Greg Leisz were on stage too:

And earlier this week, he teamed up with Sammy Hagar and others at a benefit show in California:

In related news, Hot Tuna are touring as always. Their tour returns to NYC for an Electric Hot Tuna show on November 19 at Beacon Theatre. Tickets for that show are available. Singer/guitarist Jorma Kaukonen hits that same venue sooner to sit in with Tedeschi Trucks Band on October 5. Some tickets are left for that show too, though not many.
