Bodega share “Jack in Titanic” video, announce North American tour

One of the hookiest songs on Bodega‘s debut album, Endless Scroll, is “Jack in Titanic,” with its “‘cept Jack in Tatanic” response to a litany of boasts. Says the band’s Ben Hozie:

Jack in Titanic’ is about learned male behavior and the nostalgia for it. One day I realized that my unspoken internal values ‘of what it means to be a man’ were inherited from the dubious fantasy of the movies, particularly my childhood models: James Bond, Jackie Chan, and Jack (in Titanic). Jack, of course, is also an archetypal rock and roll hero: road warrior, poor yet able to maneuver class, loyal friend, incredible dancer, fantastic lover (in the back of cars), wonderful with graphic design (could do his own cover art), and weapon against the aristocracy (and all things bureaucratic and mannered).

“Jack in Titanic” will be stuck in your head with one play and you can watch the video below.

Bodega just played Brooklyn Bazaar on Wednesday night, opening for No Age, and their next NYC show will be the Endless Scroll release party on June 1 at Sunnyvale which is with Public Practice (the new band featuring members of Wall and Beverly) and a collaborative set between Pill and Eaters. Tickets are on sale. Shortly after, Bodega will head out on a East Coast/Midwest tour. They’ve also got dates in the UK and Europe. Alll dates listed below.
