Bon Iver performed songs with The National in Ireland (video), expands tour
The National just played Cork Opera House in Ireland on Saturday night (9/16) as part of the Sounds of a Safe Harbour festival. As Pitchfork notes, They surprised the crowd by bringing out Justin Vernon of Bon Iver — who played the night before at the fest — to perform with them for a good chunk of their set, including on “Afraid of Everyone,” “Turtleneck,” “Guilty Party,” “Slow Show,” and “Terrible Love.” Video of the whole concert, which also included The National covering Cat Power’s “Maybe Not,” below. Lisa Hannigan was also a guest on several songs, including the Cat Power cover.
Meanwhile Bon Iver has just announced a bunch of new dates to their tour, including Northeast shows in December (none in NYC, though), and shows in Texas and Mexico in January 2018 (that fall around the same time as Bon Iver’s planned concert vacation in Mexico that got canceled). He played 10 NYC shows last December. All dates are listed below.
