Justin Vernon will release the highly-anticipated third Bon Iver album, 22, A Million, at the end of this month (9/30) via Jagjaguwar. Last night, he played a song from it, “8 (circle),” on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon with an impressive cast of collaborators: The Staves, Gordi, Anais Mitchell and Arone Dyer (of Buke & Gase and Dronechoir). They sounded great, as you can see/hear for yourself:

Speaking of Buke & Gase, they have two shows coming up on October 16 at Threes Brewing in Brooklyn (333 Douglas St). First there’s an 8 PM show with an opening reading by Michael Azzerad, and then a 9:30 show with an opening set by B&G’s Brassland labelmate Fusilier. Tickets for the early and late shows are on sale now.

Arone has other events coming up too. On September 21, she’ll “be performing a piece [she] composed for Naama Tsabar’s Composition 20 on the High-Line with 20 other musicians, all standing on amplifiers placed strategically throughout a particularly tight area on the pathway (at the 14th street entrance), propelling onlookers to pass between each musician and thereby hearing each instrument from each participant, as well as experiencing the cacophony as a whole.”

She also teams with Cibo Matto’s Yuka Honda and Xiu Xiu member Shayna Dunkleman for an improv set during the October edition of The Hum. More details on that are coming very soon.

Buke and Gase are also planning a collaborative project with So Percussion (who they performed with at Justin Vernon and Aaron Dessner’s Eaux Claires music festival). Here’s a raw preview of that:
