Bonnie 'Prince' Billy @ Murmrr Theatre (night 1 pics & setlist)
Will Oldham brought Bonnie ‘Prince’ Billy to Brooklyn on Wednesday for their first of two shows at Murmrr Theatre. He had a seven-piece ensemble, dubbed the “the Wandering All-Stars & Motor Royalty,” backing him, plus members of openers The Other Years on harmonies. His set included a particularly amazing version of “I See a Darkness” from the album of the same name that finally hit streaming services this year and which again appears on Songs of Love and Horror, his new album out 10/19 (solo acoustic renditions of songs from the Palace and Bonnie “Prince” Billy catalogs). He also has a new book of lyrics with the same name that just came out. Check out pictures from Wednesday’s show in the gallery above and setlist is below.
