Boris performed Pink with Earth opening at Warsaw (pics)

Once at full speed, Boris plowed through the next hour of their set, playing all eleven tracks with hardly a pause and even throwing in a few surprises like “N.F Sorrow” and “Talisman”. Neither of those are on the original release of Pink, but were included in the “forbidden tracks” portion of the recently released ten year anniversary reissue. Boris would eventually leave Warsaw’s stage triumphantly to chants of “Boris!, Boris!” and a sea of hands throwing up the devil horns, but not before drummer/vocalist Atsuo could get in a couple stage dives, closing the night in glorious fashion. Noise merchants Boris and Earth brought their tour to NYC over the weekend, playing Warsaw on August 5.
Boris, who we recently spoke to about the tour over at Invisible Oranges, have been playing their classic 2005 album Pink (along with some “hidden tracks”) in its entirety on this tour, making the act of seeing an already consistently great live band into even more of an event. The idea of the extremely legendary Earth as an opener here gives you an idea of how strong this show was, with two metal bands that have always pushed the boundaries of how artistically ambitious the form could be. Pictures of the show continue below.
