Bowie bandaged & bruised @ Fashion Rocks

I just watched Bowie perform Life on Mars at Fashion Rocks on TV. He had a black eye and a bandage on his arm (as the picture proves). Was it a tribute to New Orleans or something? When Arcade Fire joins him, they’re gone.

P.S. Someone please make Mark McGrath go away.
