Braid’s Chris Broach forms Sunset, shares “National Monument” video off debut LP


Last year, Braid co-frontman Chris Broach launched a Kickstarter to fund the first album since 2004 by his synthy band The Firebird Band. Chris and The Firebird Band’s Steve Znavor have now actually turned this into the debut album by a new project called Sunset. The album was produced by in-demand punk producer Will Yip (who did Braid’s reunion album) and it’s due out in 2017. The first single is “National Monument,” which has a video that pays homage to Poltergeist and Stranger Things (and is here in time for Halloween weekend). It’s a good song. Check it out:

Sunset will play SXSW 2017 and more tour dates are TBA. Meanwhile, Braid play The Fest in Gainesville this weekend.
