Holy Sons

This year’s edition of Brooklyn’s annual Brain-Cave Festival happens April 25 and 26 at Baby’s All Right with an eclectic lineup both days, and visuals by Drippy Eye Projections both days.

Day 1 features Holy Sons (who have been playing NYC a lot recently), Lichens, Ancient Sky, Ancient Ocean, Public Speaking, Mixed Doubles and Worthless, as well as various DJs and a drum/drone set by members of Blackout, White Widows Pact and more. Day 1 tickets are on sale.

Day 2 has Zongo Junction, Wild Yaks, ET Anderson, Invisible Familiars, more DJ sets, interpretative dance, and more surprises. Day 2 tickets are on sale. Flyers for both days below.

Local psych-rockers Ancient Sky, who play Brain-Cave on Saturday, have a new album coming June 9 via Wharf Cat Records. Mosaic is produced by Ben Greenberg (ex-The Men) and the band has shared a new song from the album titled “Garbage Brain.” Check it out below, with all of their dates.

Ancient Sky is not to be confused with the similarly named Ancient Ocean, who also plays Brain Cave but makes ambient music. He has a new full-length coming June 30 via Beyond Beyond Is Beyond and recently released the album’s title track, which you can check out below.

And in more related news, Annique Monet, formerly of Worthless (who are playing Brain Cave), is also releasing a new album on Beyond Beyond Is Beyond. It’s called Phantom Letters, it’s due out on May 19 (pre-order), and new single “Nowhere” premieres in this post. Listen, with the list of her upcoming shows (3 in NYC), below…
