Brent Weinbach touring, including fall dates with DJ Douggpound

brent-weinbach-appealing-the-the-mainstream

Comedian Brent Weinbach describes his style as “weird and stupid and visual and post-modern and random” — he was the recipient of the Andy Kaufman Award — but on his standup special he’s “appealing to the mainstream.” Or at least that’s the title and the premise:

Brent Weinbach is weird. In this show, Brent attempts to adjust his quirky personality so that he can fit in with the world around him, which would be valuable to his career as a comedian and entertainer. Through an absurd and abstract discourse, Brent explores the ways in which he can appeal to a broader, mainstream audience, so that ultimately, he can become successful in show business.

Originally on now-defunct streaming comedy site Seeso, the special has just been rereleased to rent on iTunes and Amazon and you can watch a few clips from it below..

Brent is touring, including fall dates with DJ Douggpound (aka pal and Pound House collaborator Doug Lussenhop). They’ll be in Brooklyn for a show a Knitting Factory on October 11 and tickets are on sale. In addition to those dates, Brent also has a headline standup date in New Hampshire, and will be taping an episode of his video game music Legacy Music Hour podcast in Salem, MA — both of those in September.
