Broken Bells @ Baby’s All Right – 1/31/14
Broken Bells

Broken Bells (aka Shins singer James Mercer and production wizard Danger Mouse of Gnarls Barkley and others) will release their funky new album After the Disco this week (2/4), and ahead of its release they stopped in NYC for a very short show at new-ish Brooklyn venue Baby’s All Right on Friday (1/31). Their show was the first of three shows at the venue that night (before Mark McGuire and Eagulls), and beginning at 6 PM, saw them playing only three songs, followed by a screening of a short film with music from the band. It was a free show, part of Tumbrl’s “IRL” series, that you had to RSVP for, so at least they weren’t worried about anyone getting “their money’s worth,” but still… three songs? You could also check out Danger Mouse’s photography which was hung all over the venue during the event, so there was that too?

Broken Bells will go on a full tour soon which brings them back to NYC on March 7 at Webster Hall (sold out), and will presumably feature them playing more than three songs. They’ll also be back in NYC for Governors Ball in June.

Pictures of the Baby’s All Right show are in this post. More below…
