Broken Social Scene expand tour, playing free Central Park SummerStage show

Toronto indie rock greats Broken Social Scene returned last year with their first album in seven years, the excellent Hug of Thunder, and they’ve been continuing to support the album on tour this year. They just wrapped up a run with two NYC-area shows last week, and they have more dates scheduled through September.

They’ll return to NYC for a FREE Central Park SummerStage show on Saturday, July 1. It’s a daytime show (2 PM doors, 3 PM start), and it’s in celebration of Canada Day. The diverse bill includes two other Canadian acts, Mélissa Laveaux and The East Pointers.

BSS resume their tour with a hometown show with Portugal. The Man in May, before heading over to the UK. They also play a few US festivals, including Bonnaroo, Pickathon, and Outside Lands. Updated dates are listed below.
