The new episodes of Twin Peaks are less than a month away and excitement is high. A few days before the new seasons’ premiere, the folks at BBQ Films (who put on the Empire Records event at Rough Trade) and Showtime are presenting a Tribute to Twin Peaks at Brooklyn Bazaar on May 16:

Visitors will be able to enjoy a damn good cup of coffee at the Double R Diner, explore the mysterious Twin Peaks Lodge, and interact with a variety of quirky — dare we say suspicious — characters from this quaint northwestern town, brought to life by the beauties of The Pink Room Burlesque.

The event is free (RSVP here) and if you come in costume you can enter the Miss Twin Peaks Pageant and maybe win a prize.

Videology, meanwhile is doing Twin Peaks Bingo again on Wednesday nights at 9 PM, which is free and a lot of fun — you watch episodes and play bingo from things that happen on the show. You can win donuts or free drinks. More info.

Over at BAM Rose Cinemas, they’ll be hosting a film series called Peak Performances” from May 12 – 24 that highlights other film roles by many of Twin Peaks’ cast. Things kick off with a 35mm screening  of Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me on May 12, and the series also features: David Lynch’s Eraserhead on May 13 which stars Jack Nance (who played Pete Martell); Kyle MacLachlan in Lynch’s Blue Velvet (May 20)  West Side Story (May 21) which featured both Richard Beymer (Audrey’s skeezy dad Ben Horne) and  Russ Tamblyn (Hawaiian shirt wearing Dr. Lawrence Jacoby); Piper Laurie (Catherine Martell) in horror films Carrie and Ruby (both May 14); Sherilyn Fenn (Audrey) in Zalman King’s erotic melodrama and Cinemax mainstay Two Moon Junction (May 17) and lots more.

Twin Peaks returns May 21 on Showtime. You can watch the new teaser trailer (which is probably closest we’re going to get to new footage till the show airs) below.
