Brooklyn Comes Alive 2018

The lineup has been revealed for the 2018 Brooklyn Comes Alive jam marathon, which this year BrooklynVegan is a media sponsor of. The marathon goes down on September 29 at Brooklyn Bowl, Music Hall of Williamsburg and Rough Trade.

This year there will be a tribute to the late Prince featuring Prince’s final bassist MonoNeon, plus members of Snarky Puppy, The Motet, Turkuaz, and more.

There will also be a tribute to recently-deceased jam icons titled In Honor of Col. Bruce Hampton, Butch Trucks, Gregg Allman, And Those We’ve Lost…, featuring funk legend George Porter Jr. of The Meters, the Gregg Allman Band’s Peter Levin, Lettuce’s Adam Smirnoff, teen guitarist Brandon “Taz” Niederauer, and more.

There’s a Steely Dan tribute with members of Snarky Puppy, The Motet, Turkuaz, and more.

In addition to the Prince tribute, MonoNeon is playing in a quintet with Scott Metzger, Nikki Glaspie, Skerik and former Snarky Puppy member Cory Henry.

Bassist Karina Rykman of Marco Benevento’s band will perform with special guests Robert Walter and Dave Harrington (of Darkside), plus other guests.

BCA also includes members of The Disco Biscuits, Dopapod, Trey Anastasio Band, Pretty Lights’ live band, and more. Full list of artists below.
