Gold Child

Brooklyn country singer Gold Child releasing debut LP (stream "In Between")

Brooklyn country singer Gold Child (aka Emily Fehler) is releasing her self-titled debut album on August 9, and following the release of lead single “Roses,” we’re now premiering “In Between.” The album was produced by Garrett Eaten and John Fredericks and mixed by Justin Gerrish, and recorded in Brooklyn in both her home and at Hook and Fade Studio. The melancholic “In Between” shows off a real sense of classic ’70s country, but with a modern twist and a dreamlike atmosphere that makes it clear why people have also compared her to Mazzy Star and Angel Olsen. Emily tells us, “‘In Between’ is about the push and pull in relationships where there are major differences but those differences create a kind of harmony where you end up bringing out good things in each other. It was one of the first songs we worked on for the record and the first version sounded completely different than it sounds now, but it’s become one of my favorites.” Listen below.
