Brooklyn senator wants to ban iPod use in crosswalks

“With accidents stemming from pedestrian distraction on the rise throughout the nation, Senator Carl Kruger (D-Brooklyn) has re-introduced legislation making it illegal to use an iPod, cell phone, Blackberry or any other electronic device while crossing the street…. Under Sen. Kruger’s bill (S. 1945), anyone caught crossing the street while using an electronic device would be issued a criminal court summons with a penalty of $100.” []

The above picture comes from an actual campaign in Australia to stop the same thing.
