Brooklyn zine ‘1.21 Gigawatts’ shutting down; final Gigawatts Fest this weekend

Brooklyn bi-monthly zine 1.21 Gigawatts has been covering the local arts and music magazine since 2012 but is sadly closing up shop. They’ll go out with one last hurrah, however, in the form of a final edition of their annual Gigawatts Festival. It happens this weekend (Saturday, 5/14 and Sunday, 5/15) at Alphaville and features Dances, Dead Stars, Motion Studies, SLONK DONKERSON, Haybaby, Total Slacker and more. The full lineup is listed below.

Tickets are $10 for both nights or $8 single days. All proceeds from the event will benefit 826NYC, a a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting students ages 6-18 with their creative and expository writing skills.
