Bryant Park hosting free music festival Emerging Music Fest in August

NYC’s Bryant Park will host the free Emerging Music Festival for its third year this summer. The festival happens August 18 & 19 and the goal is to showcase on-the-rise artists across various genres who are all based in the greater New York area. This year’s lineup includes post-punk band RIPS, the bluesy Breanna Barbara, singer/songwriter Cassandra Jenkins, the hard-to-pin-down Landlady, soul/funk group 79.5, and more.

Day one goes from 6PM to 10PM and day two goes from 4PM to 10PM. In addition to music, the fest has beer, wine and food vendors, picnic blankets available to borrow, lawn games, and more. Check out the full day-by-day lineups below. Again, it’s totally free to the public.

Bryant Park is also int he midst of hosting the HBO Bryant Park Summer Film Festival. Last year, it hosted a NYC edition of Roots Picnic.
