Buggin Out

Buggin Out release debut EP, touring w/ No Option

Buggin Out are a new-ish hardcore band from Chicago who are named after the character in Do the Right Thing and take influence from “early 2000s hardcore like Righteous Jams and RZL DZL, a lil bit of NYHC from the ’80s, generally goofing off and having fun,” as they tell No Echo. They just followed their 2019 demo with their self-titled debut EP on New Morality Zine today. It kicks off with recent single “My Rules” — which vocalist Bryanna described to No Echo like this: “I just went with what I knew best: that I’m really stubborn and I hate being told what to do. I don’t really fuck with any type of authority because being very independent is important to me” — and the other four tracks are just as furious and in-your-face and uncompromising as that one. The whole thing is a ripper, as you can hear for yourself below.

Buggin Out are also about to play the stacked LDB Fest this Thursday (2/6), and they’ll be on tour with No Option after that. The tour includes a Brooklyn show on March 23 at The Kingsland with local support from Perfect World and more TBA (tickets). Not all venues are publicly announced, but all dates and cities are listed below.
