Lost Weekend

As mentioned, BrooklynVegan and Margin Walker are bringing back LOST WEEKEND in Austin during SXSW, and now we’re excited to announce the initial lineup of 41 artists (with a few more TBA) playing across three days and two stages (and with some sets STREAMING THIS YEAR thanks to PressureDrop.TV).

The FREE day parties happen Thursday, March 15 through Saturday, March 17 at Cheer Up Charlies (900 Red River St) from noon-6PM (free with RSVP).

Over the course of the Lost Weekend, there will be sets from Okkervil River, Andrew W.K., Hop Along, Speedy Ortiz, U.S. Girls, Lucy Dacus, Hinds, The Wedding Present, Shopping, La Luz, Tyler Childers, Soccer Mommy, Gang of Youths, A Place to Bury Strangers, Natalie Prass, Ezra Furman, Men I Trust, Gus Dapperton, Courtney Marie Andrews, Haley Heynderickx, Stella Donnelly, and tons more. RSVP IS OPEN NOW.

Set times coming soon HERE, but here’s more details on each day…

The Thursday (3/15) show — which is in partnership with M For Montreal — has indie rock vets Okkervil River (new album coming in April, lead single streaming above), modern-day indie staples Speedy Ortiz (new album in April), the genre-defying U.S. Girls and her eight-piece band (great new album out now), UK post-punk revivalists Shopping, the uniquely talented Ezra Furman, Montreal dream pop newcomers Men I Trust, attitude-fueled post-punks IDLES, rockin’ Ex Hex/Flesh Wounds offshoot Bat Fangs, Australian Secretly Canadian-signed rising indie rocker Stella Donnelly, underrated country/indie rock crossover artist Becca Mancari, Domino-signed Priests offshoot Flasher, UK indie pop trio Girl Ray, Montreal’s jazzy, folky indie pop artist Common Holly, and promising Montreal janglers Corridor.

The Friday (3/16) show — which is in partnership with Norway’s Oya Fest — has A FEW MORE ARTISTS TO BE ANNOUNCED but so far there is Saddle Creek-signed folky indie rock greats Hop Along (new album coming in April, great new song streaming above), Spain’s super fun Hinds (new album in April), indie legends The Wedding Present, Sturgill Simpson associate Tyler Childers, fast-rising indie rocker Soccer Mommy (great new album out now), garage punks The Frights, alt-country-ish Topshelf band Ratboys, promising indie rocker and current Dashboard Confessional tourmate Kississippi, ex-Tigers Jaw co-frontman and GothBoiClique co-founder Wicca Phase Springs Eternal, soulful genre-defying Congolese-Canadian musician and Shabazz Palaces collaborator Pierre Kwenders, Norwegian electronic trio Sassy 009, and Norwegian experimental rockers Aiming For Enrike.

UPDATE: Four more artists announced for Friday: The Weather Station, the band led by Canadian folk musician Tamara Lindeman who released their very solid self-titled album on Paradise of Bachelors last year; rising emo band awakebutstillinbed, who recently signed to Tiny Engines after picking up buzz for their 2018 debut; masked rapper/singer Leikeli47 who put out the underrated Wash & Set last year and had the lead single off HBO’s Insecure season 2 soundtrack; and Topshelf-signed dream pop band No Vacation.

The Saturday (3/17) show has professional partier Andrew WK, increasingly talented Matador-signed indie rocker Lucy Dacus (great new album out now), surf rockers La Luz, Australian anthemic Springsteen lovers Gang of Youths, wall-of-noise rockers A Place to Bury Strangers (new album out April 13), the ever-evolving Natalie Prass (funky new single out now), fast-rising alternative pop singer Gus Dapperton, Fat Possum-signed folk/alt-country singer (and Will Oldham, Damien Jurado, and Jimmy Eat World collaborator) Courtney Marie Andrews, very talented and fast-rising Angel Olsen-esque artist Haley Heynderickx (promising debut LP out now), folk/country singer Jade Bird, buzzy UK-based and ATO-signed jazzy pop act Nilufer Yanya, art rockers Palm, Melbourne’s jangly indie rockers RVG, the theatrical Sloppy Jane, harmony-fueled garage punks Susan, and buzzy Australian alt-pop artist G Flip.

Once again, all three shows are TOTALLY FREE. RSVP is open, and RSVPing also automatically enters you for a chance to win an iZotope Spire Studio portable audio recorder, a device you’ll get to try out at our shows as well.

We’re also proud to have OkCupid with us this year. As you may have heard, they’re redefining the F in DTF.

Because the F should be whatever the F you want it to be. DTFood Truck. DTForget The Rules. DTFiesta. Because there’s more to dating than swiping through a bunch of selfies and bad acronyms. Join OkCupid, because dating deserves better (and so do you).

Stop by their photobooth on site, and enter for a chance to skip our line by tagging @BrooklynVegan, @Okcupid and a friend on Twitter with a comment on how you would flip the script on #DTF. Are you #DTFrigginParty #DTFeelFabulous #DTFinishMyNovel. Also throw in #DTFiesta and #LOSTWKND2 so we can find you.

Stay tuned for lineup updates, full set times, and more streaming info.
