Camille (ex Nouvelle Vague) released new LP 'Oui' (listen), playing NYC

Former Nouvelle Vague singer Camille just released her fifth album, Oui, in North America. (The album came out in June in France, where it debuted at #1.) Made with longtime collaborators Clement Ducol and Maxime Leguil, there’s an emphasis on percussion and analog synthesizers, but it’s a real showcase for Camille’s dexterous voice. “The story of the album is like this, moving from the arcane drums to the treble and harmonics and light in my voice,” says Camille. “All the voices are telling a story, and I am all the voices.” You can stream the album in full, and watch the video for “Lasso” below.

Camille, who played NYC when her second solo album La Fille was released in the US in 2006, will be in NYC to celebrate Oui‘s release with a show at Le Poisson Rouge on Monday (10/16) and tickets are on sale. It’s her only North American date at the moment but she has an extensive touring schedule in France and other parts of Europe ahead for this year and next. All dates are listed below.
