Camp Cope

Camp Cope doing livestream concert; Georgia Maq & Kelso released a split

The impact of the coronavirus outbreak has led to a lot of musicians continuing to create from the comfort of safety of their own homes, and one of the bands who did just that is Camp Cope, whose singer/guitarist Georgia Maq and bassist Kelso just released a split with one solo song each. “Both these songs were recorded on GarageBand in the comfort of our own homes,” they assure us.

Georgia’s song “The Ladder” is cut from the same somber singer/songwriter cloth as her recent single “Cold Summer” (released before the coronavirus situation severely escalated), and it’s always great to hear Georgia in this mode. Kelso’s song “South” pairs well with it, and you can listen to both songs below.

Georgia and Kelso were supposed to tour North America together but that was of course cancelled, however, Camp Cope will be taking part in UK label Special Subject‘s second livestream concert, which happens Tuesday (3/24) at 3:30 PM ET. The lineup also includes Slingshot Dakota, Rosie Tucker, Lou Hanman (Caves), Stef Fi (Big Joanie), and more. Set times and flyer below. More info here. The stream happens on the Specialist Subject Instagram.

The label’s first livestream concert was last week with Jeff Rosenstock, AJJ, Erica Freas, and more. You can watch an archive of Jeff’s set here.
