Candlemass House of Doom

Candlemass releasing new EP 'House of Doom' (stream the title track)

Doom legends Candlemass claimed that 2012’s Psalms for the Dead would be their final album, and so far that may still be true, but they haven’t stopped releasing music. They put out the Death Thy Lover EP in 2016 and they’re putting out the House of Doom EP on May 25 via Napalm Records (pre-order). We’re premiering the title track, along with its lyric video, and it’s proof that Leif Edling & co. still have plenty of ideas left. Over 30 years after their classic debut Epicus Doomicus Metallicus, Candlemass are still churning out evil, slowed-down riffs and ripping fiery solos. Current vocalist Mats Levén’s howl suits the song perfectly. If you like classic Candlemass (or if you’re unfamiliar but you like anything from Black Sabbath to Pallbearer), you’re gonna be pleased with this song. Check it out below.

Leif tells us:

We in Candlemass are proud to present 4 new songs to the world on the
new EP ’House of Doom’!
The title track is inspired by the House of Doom game from Hyperfrost.
We’re also very happy that our label Napalm Records
are with us all the way – 2018 will be a big year for Candlemass!
