Candlemass share song ft. Black Sabbath's Tony Iommi (listen)

Influential doom vets Candlemass are releasing their twelfth album The Door to Doom this year (due 2/22 via Napalm), and we’re especially anticipating this one because it’s their first with original singer Johan Längqvist since their classic 1986 debut Epicus Doomicus Metallicus. Also because it features guest guitar from an even more influential doom vet, Black Sabbath’s Tony Iommi, on the song “Astorolus – The Great Octopus,” and that song is out now. Iommi takes the ripping solo about halfway through the song, and while it’s both a little flashier and a little more generic than the trademark Iommi solos on the early Sabbath albums, it’s still awesome to hear him shred like this nearly 50 years into his career. Listen below.

In other Sabbath news, Ozzy’s got more farewell dates (with Megadeth) coming up, Geezer’s in a new band, and Birmingham has plans for a Black Sabbath monument.
