Capgun Coup singer Sam Martin releasing a solo LP (watch the video for "Bye Bye")

You may remember late-2000s indie rock band Capgun Coup, who hailed from Omaha and shared the stage with many other bands from that scene (Bright Eyes, Tilly and the Wall, etc) during their existence. Their singer, Sam Martin, is now taking the solo route and will release a new album, A Notion in an Ocean, this fall via Make Believe Recordings. One of that album’s singles, “Bye Bye,” is on the more chilled-out side of Sam’s songwriting and it’s just been given a quirky music video which includes Sam fully clothed in a bubble bath. The song is already stuck in our head. The video premieres in this post.
