Car Seat Headrest released 'Teens of Denial' (digitally), expands tour

After a rocky start in which Matador had to destroy all physical copies due to the incorporation of an unauthorized Cars’ track, Car Seat Headrest‘s excellent Teens of Denial is out now, at least digitally. Will Toledo re-edited/recorded the song (now called “Not What I Needed) and physical copies will be released in July with an official date TBD. The legal issue wasn’t the only hiccup: studio banter that originally appeared on track “Unforgiving Girl (She’s Not An)” was accidentally omitted from the version of the song on the released album. Regardless, you can get Teens of Denial in  digital formats, and stream the LP below, right now.

Car Seat Headrest are playing a sold-out record release show at Rough Trade on Saturday (5/20). There were actually supposed to be two Rough Trade shows on Saturday, including an early show where you could get in by preordering Teens of Denial, but that early show was canceled. The band will be back in July for the free Village Voice 4 Knots Festival.
