Cardi B is being sued by her former manager, and one of the cowriters of “Bodak Yellow,” Klenord “Shaft” Raphael, Variety reports. According to the publication, Shaft and his company KSR are seeking at least $10 million in damages, and they’ve shared a statement from Shaft’s representative:

Since discovering Cardi B in 2015, Shaft has played an integral role in developing her music career and public image. While he is proud of their successful collaborations as she evolved from Instagram influencer to music megastar, Shaft is disappointed by her actions to freeze him out of her career, which are detailed in the complaint. Shaft is confident that his lawsuit will validate his conduct and substantiate his legal claims.

Shaft also claims to have been the driving force in Cardi’s relationship with VH1’s Love & Hip Hop: New York, which she appeared on over the course of two seasons.

According to TMZ, Cardi defamed Shaft by allegedly accusing him of stealing from her, including to her fiance Offset.

Cardi signed with Migos‘s management, Quality Control, late in March, as Variety reported, leaving Shaft’s KSR Group. Solid Foundation, the management wing of Quality Control, is headed by Kevin “Coach K” Lee and Pierre “Pee” Thomas, both of whom are named in Shaft’s complaint, according to Variety, along with Cardi’s publicist/stylist Patientce Foster.

Cardi is fresh off playing playing two weekends at Coachella, and earlier today she cancelled her spring and summer tour dates because of her advancing pregnancy.
