Caroline Polachek preps solo LP ‘Pang,’ shares new video, playing NYC & LA
Former Chairlift leader Caroline Polachek will release her first album under her own name, titled Pang, this fall. On it she worked with PC Music’s Danny L. Harle and A.G. Cook, among others, and she’s just shared the video for “Ocean of Tears” which she co-directed with Matt Copson. “I’ve had a longstanding crush on the pale color worlds of Monet’s snow paintings,” says Caroline. “And after visiting the Pirates Of The Caribbean ride at Disneyland this spring, was immediately inspired to morph those two zones into the perfect setting for ‘Ocean Of Tears.’ After all, the song is wild and lonely…like a pirate’s heart.” Watch that below.
Caroline will present “Premiere Performances of Pang” in L.A. (Zebulon on 10/25) and NYC (Bowery Ballroom on 10/27). Tickets for Bowery Ballroom are on Citi presale now and go on sale to the general public on Friday, August 9 at noon Eastern; tickets for Zebulon go on sale Friday at 10 AM Pacific.
There are also Pang performances in London, Berlin and Amsterdam. All are listed below.
Interestingly, Super Furry Animals frontman Gruff Rhys’s new album is also called Pang.
