stream Cassandra Jenkins' live record, featuring new song "Rose"

NYC folk singer Cassandra Jenkins released her debut album Play Till You Win last year, and now she’s releasing a live record that she recorded at Southern California’s Come What May Festival. It’s called Live in Foxen Canyon and it features four songs from Play Till You Win, plus a new, previously-unrecorded song, “Rose,” which gets kinda psychedelic compared to her other material. Cassandra’s band on these recordings is Avi Buffalo on guitar, Sheridan Riley (Alvvays) on drums, Michael Rosen (Cones) on keys, and Abbey Blackwell on bass, and they sound great with Cassandra. They add just the right embellishments to her stripped-down, dreamy sound, fleshing them out nicely but not overdoing them. The record comes out tomorrow (2/2), and we’re premiering a full stream ahead of the release. Listen below.

Cassandra’s upcoming dates include a Chicago show, Iowa’s Gas Feed And Seed Festival and SXSW. All dates are listed below.
