Cat Power

Cat Power signing in Brooklyn after dates w/ The National & Phoebe Bridgers

The National are about to begin a string of special shows, beginning with a three night run in California with Phoebe Bridgers. Tickets are still on sale for the first of those shows on 9/20 at Hollywood Palladium.

From there it’s on to a Berkeley show with Big Thief followed by a second with Cat Power, who then joins the National (and Phoebe Bridgers) for shows in Philly and Maryland before all three take part in The National’s big two day fest at Forest Hills Stadium later this month, There’s No Leaving New York (that Jason Isbell, U.S. Girls and Future Island are also playing).

In early October, The National head off to TX for Austin City Limits (and an ACL aftershow) and some other shows (including Red Rocks with Sharon Van Etten) while Cat Power sticks around NYC for a rare signing at Rough Trade Records in Williamsburg on 10/4 (entry with purchase of Chan’s new album – details here).

Cat Power, who just played Riot Fest over the weekend, releases her anticipated new album Wanderer, her first in six years, on October 5, and one of the songs we’ve heard from it, “Woman”, is a collaboration with Lana Del Rey (who just shared her own great new song, “Mariners Apartment Complex”).
