Cat's Eyes announce new LP 'Treasure House,' share lyric video for "Chameleon Queen"

Cat's Eyes Treasure House

It’s been five years since Cat’s Eyes (aka Faris Badwan of The Horrors and Rachel Zeffira) delivered their excellent debut album. While their sumptuous score to last year’s charmingly kinky The Duke of Burgundy was very lovely, they’re finally back with new pop music. Treasure House will be out June 3 on their own RAF imprint. That’s a ways off still, but they’ve released a lyric video for “Chameleon Queen.” Quite different from anything on their girl-group-inspired debut, it’s a baroque piano ballad, sung by Badwan with Zeffira providing otherworldly backing vocals. Faris tells us a little about the lyric video:

Late last year I travelled to Rachel’s deserted childhood home in the Canadian wilderness…when we arrived there was a bear on the front lawn and the whole town was surrounded by forest fires. The lyric video was shot at 9pm and as you will see with your own eyes there was no one around.

Spooky. Check out the video, as well as Treasure House‘s artwork and tracklist, below..
