C'el Revuelta

C'el Revuelta of Black Flag, RIP

C’el Revuelta, who played bass in Black Flag in 1986 (and during their brief 2003 reunion), has passed away. Henry Rollins confirmed the news on his Facebook, and linked to a GoFundMe set up by C’el’s family to raise money for his medical and funeral costs. The GoFundMe reads:

Our family is trying to help raise money for Cel Revuelta and his family. Cel was diagnosed with stage 4 Glioblastoma in July of 2016 when he suddenly had a seizure and doctors found a tumor in his brain. They proceeded with the surgery and removed the tumor and Cel agreed to try to fight this cancer by going through with chemo and radiation and other medication that the doctors said may help him. But unfortunately the cancer has grown and Cel’s health is not good. He can no longer walk or use the left side of his body. The side effects of all the medication he’s on and the swelling in his brain from the cancer has caused Cel to have memory loss, anxiety, sleeplessness, and of course discomfort and pain in his body. Just recently at his last doctor visit we were told there wasn’t much they could do to stop or slow the cancer down other than start another round of chemo therapy with no guarantees of any good news, but more discomfort. So Cel has now decided to stop any chemo treatments and would like to just live his life as comfortable as possible. By stopping his treatments the doctors said he doesn’t have very much time left to live, a few months maybe but we know it’s in God’s hands! We love and support him in this decision and hope for the best. Please don’t stop praying for Cel and his family.

Thank you to everyone for your donations and for sharing this with others.

Rest in peace, C’el.
